Summer Lodging & Vacation Rentals

In the summer, you will enjoy your own beach for swimming or sun tanning, a huge wrap around deck for grilling outside, a completely equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, fresh clean linens, and everything you need to enjoy a vacation of a lifetime on the southern shoreline of Lake Superior in the quaint and quiet village of Shelter Bay, Michigan just down the road from Au Train River and AuTrain, Michigan, and just on the outskirts of Munising, Michigan.

You can cook in, on the grill, or order out, with Main Street Pizza just a jaunt down the road, or enjoy fabulous food at the Brownstone Inn. Marquette offers a host of wonderful restaurants for your evening out on the town for dinner or dancing.

Winter Lodging & Vacation Rentals

In the wintertime, you will be in the heart of the snowmobile capital of the world, Munising, Michigan, which is home to more than 500 miles of snowmobile trails running from your back door to the Buckhorn Lodge, Shingleton, Grand Marais, Pictured Rocks, Marquette, Chatham, and the list goes on. There is a complete snowmobile highway system beckoning you to explore some of the most beautiful scenery available this side of the Mississippi. If you have never experienced snowmobiling in a small version of the west, you have to put it on your list of places to go. Once you do, you will want to return again and again.

The entire Munising - AuTrain - Marquette area is alive in the winter months from November to March, with groomed trails, outhouse races (you want to see these!), dog sled races, poker runs, and of course, casinos right around the corner.

Spring Lodging & Vacation Rentals

In the early spring, when the snow is melting and the grass hasn't begun to rise yet, you will see nature coming alive, flocks of geese overhead returning to the homeland, and huge icebergs floating in the lake. It is a beautiful time to take photos. The early spring rains create the perfect time to wrap up next to the wood burning fireplace and nestle down for some personal time.

In the late spring, the world is coming alive, with birds singing, more geese returning home, trails open for hiking or biking, and fishing season.

Fall Color Lodging & Vacation Rentals

In the fall, the Upper Peninsula is home to perhaps the most beautiful color show available anywhere, with balmy temperatures in the 70's, days of sunshine, and hunting. Many of our guests enjoy the spectacular deer, bear, bird, and small game hunting available in the nearby surrounding areas.

If you lucky rabbit's foot is ready to play some serious blackjack or take a spin with the one-armed bandits, two Casinos are located within a short drive to Christmas, Michigan or towards Marquette, Michigan. The casinos also provide complete menus for your dining pleasure.
